Parks & Recreational Sites
We strive to make our parks fun, safe and inviting. Our mission is to improve, maintain and fully use our existing parks and to consider the acquisition of other park land, trails and green spaces. We will continue to develop plans to improve the function and aesthetics of our parks.
The Center City Parks Committee is open to new volunteers and new committee members.
Watertower Park
Location: 150 Busch Avenue
Amenities: Playground Equipment, Basketball Hoop
History: Established in 1980, this community park is located in the center of the city, serving residents both downtown and in surrounding neighborhoods.
Lorens Park
Location: 400 Grand Avenue
Amenities: Picnic Tables, Walking Path, Shore Fishing, Nature Setting
History: Donated to Center City for the development of a park, this land forms the tip of a peninsula once called the Lorens Addition. Local businessman F.G. Lorens donated the property upon his death in 1940. The park was named in honor of the considerable contributions of the entire Lorens family in the founding of the community.
IG Long Park
Location: 550 Nelson Court
Amenities: Picnic Shelter, Playground Equipment, Basketball Hoop
History: Named after a long-serving police officer who worked for Center City, this is a neighborhood park.
Veterans Memorial Triangle
Location: Moody & Summit Avenues Intersection
Amenities: Veteran’s Memorial Plaque, USA Flag, Park Bench
History: Dedicated to those who have served our country to preserve our freedoms.
DNR Boat Launch
This boat launch is located off Hwy 8 (next to the Chisago Lakes Middle School). You can then access both North and South Center Lakes.
DNR Fishing Pier
Public Fishing Pier is located on North Center Lake at the corner of Hwy 8 and Co Rd 9
Public Boat Dock
Public Boat Dock is used while visiting our local restaurants, liquor establishments, mall and downtown merchants. It is located at the corner of Hwy 8 and County Road 9, across from the Mall. There is no overnight docking of your boats at this dock.
